BigEducation will give parents, activists and students a place to expose corruption in public education
Andrew Breitbart helped topple the corrupt community organizing outfit ACORN, released footage that shook up the left-leaning National Public Radio, and exposed the hypocrisy of double talking politicians.
The online crusader now has a new focus: Big Education.
In a recent interview with EAGtv, Breitbart discussed how he plans to promote long overdue changes in a U.S. public education system rife with waste and corruption. By empowering citizen activists with the new media platform BigEducation.com, Breitbart said he hopes to expose the special interests behind the failing status-quo and educate the public about what is really being taught in today’s schools.
“I think that parents and students have always wanted to stand up, but there really hasn’t been a means to do so,” Breitbart told EAGtv. “By creating a platform for teachers who are in failing schools who want to change things, or parents or even the students themselves, they now have the means to expose where the rot exists, where the corruption exists.”
Exposing the failings of the current system is the only way to motivate the public to change established policies and practices that are hurting students and dragging down educational achievement, Breitbart said.
“That can only be exposed through the media and right now the media is part of the status quo,” Breitbart explained. “New media and BigEducation is the answer to this problem.”
EAG certainly appreciates Breitbart’s focus on the problems in public schools that we have worked tirelessly to expose since our birth four years ago. EAG Founder and CEO Kyle Olson has contributed regularly to Breitbart’s other new media projects, including BigGovernment.com, and we hope to broaden our participation when BigEducation.com is launched in the near future.
